The rugged DMC-FT3 is not only shockproof, waterproof, dustproof and freezeproof, but it also has the capability to record high-definition movies in AVCHD format. With a 28mm wide-angle lens, Intelligent Auto Mode and GPS function, this versatile camera lets you capture all of your important moments, no matter what your shooting terrain is like.

Tough Design – Waterproof, Shockproof, Freezeproof & Dustproof
With waterproof performance to a depth of 12m, the DMC-FT3 supports active shooting on a beach, underwater or in a pool. If the camera gets dirty, soil and dust can simply be washed off using water. It is shockproof from a height up to 2m, letting you shoot actively while moving around with the camera in one hand. While hiking or playing sports, fine dust particles can enter through gaps in a camera body and cause malfunction. The dustproof DMC-FT3 can be used in these activities without problems. Being freezeproof to -10 degrees Celsius, the DMC-FT3 supports shooting while skiing, snowboarding or skating.

28mm Wide-Angle Leica Lens with 4.6x Optical Zoom
The 28mm wide-angle Leica lens* lets you easily capture large groups of people indoors or open landscapes and scenes with dynamic width and rich perspective, even from short distances. The DMC-FT3 features a 4.6x optical zoom lens (35mm camera equivalent: 28-128mm). The 4.6x optical zoom can be increased its power to 6x equivalent with the Intelligent Zoom function. Furthermore, the Extra Optical Zoom function that extends zoom power to 9.1x** by using the center part of the large CCD brings subjects even closer.

Power O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) with Active mode
Panasonic has worked extensively on addressing low-frequency vibration hand-shake, which is physically generated when pressing the shutter button or when shooting at night with a slow shutter speed. For an even more effective counter measure against blur, the DMC-FT3 is equipped with Active Mode with an option of image stabilization in movie recording. And because it is an optical system so there is no image degradation. This mode is especially effective in active movie recording such as shooting while walking. Gyro sensors detect hand-shaking and the O.I.S. lens shifts to compensate, helping prevent blurring caused by hand-shaking.

GPS with Altimeter, Compass and Barometer
The DMC-FT3 is an ultra-tough camera specially designed for active outdoor use, incorporating a compass, altimeter and barometer. The rugged design, GPS and advanced measuring equipment offers a variety of fun in a range of situations. A built-in GPS unit allows the location data where the photo was taken to be automatically embedded with its latitude and longitude. So now you will remember the exact location in the ocean where you caught that monster fish or the exact point in the sea where you caught that huge wave. The DMC-FT3 is an all-year-round active field player, recording memories in stunning photos and movies.

12.1MP High Speed CCD
The DMC-FT3 features a newly developed 12.1-megapixel CCD with 2-channel signal output structure, which boasts higher signal transfer speed for the operations that require high performance and speed such as 1,920 x 1,080 Full HD movie recording and high speed continuous shooting. The image quality is also improved due to the higher sensitivity which is made possible by highly efficient light condensation adoption larger on-chip micro lenses.

Full HD Video with AVCHD
The versatile DMC-FT3 lets you record your memories not only in photos but also in high quality movies, with ultimate ease of operation, in almost any shooting situation. The DMC-FT3 has recording capability of full HD 1,920 x 1,080 movies in AVCHD format*. A dedicated button lets you instantly start recording movies without having to change other settings in the menus. In addition, a number of options enhance the usability and fun of recording high quality full HD movie.

2.7” Wide Viewing Angle LCD with Anti-reflective Coating
The large 2.7-inch LCD on the Lumix DMC-FT3 features a high 230,000-dot resolution, and a wide-viewing angle that lets you frame your shot in a variety of ways for both shooting and viewing. LUMIX's Intelligent LCD function also automatically adjusts the brightness in 11 steps according to shooting conditions. In addition, the Anti-reflective Coating on the LCD minimises glare and provides clear images, for high visibility even in the brightness of the outdoors. The LCD provides sharp, clear images in almost all shooting situations, ranging from night time to bright daylight scenes and from low-angle to high-angle shooting

3D Photo Mode
The 3D Photo Mode produces a 3D image in the Lumix DMC-FT3. Take 20 panning shots and the camera automatically selects the two most suitable images to synthesize a 3D composite. These can be viewed easily using the SD card slot on your compatible Viera 3D TV.

PHOTOfunSTUDIO 6.1 Lite Edition & LUMIX Image Uploader
PHOTOfunSTUDIO 6.1 Lite Edition software makes it possible to sort and organise photos not only of those newly taken but also of those stored in your computer with quick start-up and fast read-in of images. The images recorded with GPS information are automatically sorted by the place name making it easy and fun to organise the images taken on your travel. For the portraits, the Face Recognition function that recognises the faces in the picture automatically sorts the photos by the registered faces without picking out each photo one by one when you only want images of a specific person. In addition to the LUMIX Image Uploader (a direct uploading function of the camera), you can upload photos to Facebook and movies to YouTube™ via this software, too. Recorded movies can be edited with the Short Movie Story function and written into MPEG2 to burn onto a DVD disc. You can also enjoy making photo and movie slideshows with a variety of effects and use your iTunes music library as background music. It is also possible to put a title or add comments on the scene utilising the information from the place names recorded with GPS and from the people’s names registered in Face Recognition.
