24mm Wide-Angle Leica Lens with 16x Optical Zoom
The DCM-TZ20 has the new high-quality LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens system with 24mm ultra wide-angle* to powerful 16x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 24-384mm. The lens system is also compatible with high shutter speed of minimum 1/4,000 sec. The DMC-TZ20 features a powerful 16x optical zoom lens (35mm camera equivalent: 24-384mm). This gives you highly natural expressions from subjects that you can't get close to. It can also be used for shooting movies, and is designed to minimise noise while zooming. The 24mm ultra wide-angle lens* gives you a wider range of composition possibilities with approximately 213% larger viewing space compared to that of 35mm camera. The super high-quality Leica DC lens minimises distortion at the wide end.

Power O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization) with Active mode – Shake Detection
For an even more effective counter measure against blur, the DMC-TZ20 is equipped with Active Mode with an option of image stabilization in movie recording. In addition to the conventional Power O.I.S. the Active Mode effectively suppress blur in movie recording particularly at wide angles while walking or playing with your children. And because it is an optical system so there is no image degradation, which makes it especially good for active movie shooting.

14.1MP High Speed MOS Sensor
The DMC-TZ20 integrates a new 14.1 megapixel MOS sensor that features high speed signal output and high sensitivity image recording, making many advanced features possible. It allows the camera to record Full HD (50i) smooth movie. For the effective concentration of light, the newly developed sensor adopts micro-fabrication technology to achieve even higher sensitivity. With an advanced micro light tube structure, both colour mixture and signal loss are prevented, resulting in photos and movies, shot at any sensitivity from low to high, that have outstanding clarity.

Full HD Video with AVCHD
In addition to Motion JPEG images, the DMC-TZ20 can record high-resolution Full HD (1,920x1080/50i) movies in AVCHD (MPEG-4/H.264) format*. The AVCHD format features almost doubles the recording time in HD quality compared with conventional Motion JPEG. With the DMC-TZ20, there are always two options to record spur-of-the-moment scenes – high quality photos or movies. You can simply choose the one that saves precious memories best. The DMC-TZ20 also features Intelligent Resolution technology. Rather than uniformly enhanced sharpness, Intelligent Resolution optimises signal processing to give the entire image outstanding natural clarity and fine detail. As a result, images are naturally clear and crisp in movies as well as in photos
* Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) movies are recorded at 50i. HD (1,280 x 720) movies are output and recorded by the image sensor at 50p.
GPS for Geo Tagging with 1,000,000 Points of Interest
Simply by turning on the GPS function in the DMC-TZ20, the location and time data are automatically updated, which is great for travel recordings. The LUMIX GPS displays latitudes and longitudes, and also area information that covers 203 countries or regions as well as the landmark information of over 1,000,000 locations in 82 countries or regions. You can even create your own landmarks with the DMC-TZ20 for your home, family's or friend's house or any places you like. Simply register your favourite places on the spot when you are there (Max. 50 places).

10 FPS at Full Resolution and 3D Photo Mode
The DMC-TZ20 can fire off up to approximately 10 frames per second in full 14-megapixel resolution with its mechanical shutter. This is fantastic for capturing fast subject motion, such as sports scenes or animals moving. The newly added 3D Photo Mode* produces a 3D image in the camera. The image-processing method used records images with less distortion or visible image links. Take 20 panning shots and the camera automatically selects the two most suitable images – one for the right eye and one for the left eye – to synthesize a 3D composite. These can be viewed back easily using the SD card slot on a compatible Viera 3D TV.

Advanced iA (Intelligent Auto) with Handheld Night Shot Mode
When you’re unsure which mode will give you the best shooting results, or when a sudden photo opportunity pops up and you don’t have time to change your settings, simply choose the iA (Intelligence Auto) Mode and the DMC-TZ20 will do everything for you. The newly added Handheld Night Shot Mode generates night scenery with illumination by multiply layering the images shot consecutively. Bright, beautiful night scenery can be recorded without the need for a tripod.

Lumix Facebook and YouTube™ Image Uploader
The DMC-TZ20 makes sharing your photos and movies easier than ever before. All you have to do is select the photos and movies you want to share and connect the camera or SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Card to a computer. Uploading automatically starts by simply following the on screen guide. Facebook can be used for photos and YouTube™ for movies. You can join these social networking services without having to install any special software. It's easy to share photos and movies on the spot, which means that your friends don't have to wait for you to come back home to see them.

PHOTOfunSTUDIO 6.0
The included PHOTOfunSTUDIO 6.0 software makes it possible to sort and organise photos not only of those newly taken but also of those stored in your computer with quick start-up and fast read-in of images. The Face Recognition function that recognises the faces in the picture automatically sorts the photos by the registered faces without picking out each photo one by one when you only want pictures of a specific person. A Panorama Stitch lets you make a panoramic composite in MOV file by synthesizing photos taken in Panorama Assist Mode of the camera. It is also possible to make a slideshow with the selected photos adding music file on. In addition to the LUMIX Image Uploader (a direct uploading function of the camera), you can upload photos to Facebook and movies to YouTube™ via this software, too
