Panasonic’s innovative Micro Four Thirds™ interchangeable lens systems set a new standard that renders the traditional internal mirror system obsolete – radically reducing overall camera size while offering you a wide selection of quality interchangeable lenses.

HD Movie Recording in AVCHD Lite
The LUMIX DMC-GF1 records High Definition motion images with 1280 x 720-pixel resolution. It uses AVCHD Lite (MPEG-4/H.264), which achieves higher image quality and stores less data than the conventional Motion JPEG.

HD photos and HD movies with VIERA Link networking
Both still images and motion images in AVCHD Lite recorded on SD Memory Cards are easy to view on a Panasonic VIERA TV with dynamic HD resolution. The user simply inserts the card into the VIERA Image Viewer (SDHC/SD card slot) on a VIERA TV or DIGA Blu-ray Disc Player to play the content. Alternatively, an optional mini HDMI cable can be used to output still and motion images recorded with the LUMIX DMC-GF1 directly to the TV for easy VIERA Link operation.

iA (intelligent Auto) Mode
Whether you’re a beginner or a professional, the LUMIX GF1 allows anyone to take spectacular images. Remarkable HD image quality is possible thanks in part to Panasonic’s iA (Intelligent Auto) fully automatic program mode, in which the camera automatically optimises any setting according to the situation. Advanced Auto Focus (AF) makes for quick, easy and precise focusing.

Full-Time Live View
You can now set up the perfect shot every time through the 3-inch LCD monitor (with 460,000-dot resolution) in Full-Time Live View. Live View lets you see (before you shoot) how adjusting the exposure compensation, white balance, aperture and even the shutter speed will affect the image. And because any dust that may have entered the camera during lens change is removed by the built-in Dust Reduction System, your newly-captured images will be spotless.

Ultra-Portable LUMIX G 20mm/F1.7 ASPH 'Pancake' Lens
This bright F1.7/20mm (35mm camera equivalent: 40mm) fixed focus lens makes it easier to take bright photos with soft focus in dimly lit conditions without a flash. Its compact, easy-to-carry size is also ideal for capturing everyday scenes and snapshots.
