The 4/3-type 12.1-megapixel Live MOS sensor featured in the Lumix DMC-GF2 offers the best of both worlds – the superior image quality of a CCD sensor, and the lower power consumption of a CMOS sensor. This sensor is advantageous for photo and movie recording with its high S/N (Signal-to-Noise) ratio, thanks to an advanced circuit structure that is unaffected by the noise generated in each of the circuits. Once you lock on the subject with a touch, the camera tracks the subject with the AF tracking function, even if it moves. Just a touch on the screen lets you select the part and the size of the AF area with the 1-area AF.

In iA Mode and My Colour Mode, the range of defocus can be adjusted by just moving the slider with your finger. This makes it easy to achieve the soft focus effect that is one of the features of an interchangeable lens system camera.

The new LUMIX G VARIO 14-42 mm / F3.5-5.6 ASPH / MEGA O.I.S. lens offers a versatile zoom range of 14-42 mm (35 mm camera equivalent: 28-84 mm) suitable for a wide range of scenes from dynamic landscapes to portraits. The lens system features excellent contrast at entire zoom range and the inclusion of an aspherical lens improves optical performance by minimising distortion, even at the 28 mm wide end. Adopting an inner focus system driven by a stepping motor, the superior optical design realises outstanding smoothness to support the high speed AF system of LUMIX G cameras.

The new LUMIX G VARIO 14-42 mm / F3.5-5.6 ASPH / MEGA O.I.S. lens incorporates Panasonic's MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer), which makes it easy to shoot super clear shots even in low-lit situations by suppressing the blur caused by a hand shake. When mounted on the cameras of Lumix G Micro System, users can take advantage of the contrast AF system and the convenient functions applied from it. With its minimum focus distance of 30 cm even at full zoom, the new lens provides a maximum photographic magnification of 0.32x (35 mm equivalent).

PHOTOfunSTUDIO 6.0 HD Edition
The PHOTOfunSTUDIO 6.0 HD Edition makes it possible to sort and organise photos not only of those newly taken but also of those stored in your computer with quick start-up and fast read-in of images. The Face Recognition function that recognises the faces in the picture automatically sorts the photos by the registered faces without picking out each photo one by one when you only want pictures of a specific person. You can also enjoy slideshows with a variety of effects and use your iTunes music library as background music and burn it onto a DVD disc in MPEG2.
