Clear Low-light Shooting

conditions. The Lumix GX1's highly sensitive sensor goes beyond
that of conventional cameras to offer impressive details even at up
to ISO 12,800. This means that you can capture dimly lit scenes in
a natural light without the need for the flash - and they appear
clear and sharp, ready for sharing.
Easy Operation
Operating the DMC-GX1 is smooth and easy, with an intuitive
layout and dedicated function buttons. Frequently-used settings can
be assigned to 2 buttons on the camera body and 2 in the software
tab for easy access. In addition, a total of 4 custom setting
patterns can be saved on the camera, convenient if more than one
person is using it. 'Level Gauge' detects the horizontal and
vertical angle of view while shooting and displays this on-screen.
Photos shot in portrait aspect will be automatically displayed
vertically during capture and playback.
Flexible Control
The 3.0-inch touch-screen allows you to navigate the menu system
more accurately and easily. It includes touch-shutter, touch-AF,
touch-playback and more. A newly adopted control dial gives you
another avenue for smooth, free control. Just turn it and choose
the icons you want to set. It makes complicated settings easy.
Micro Four Thirds System
One great advanage of the micro four thirds standard is the
ability to achieve a wider range of expression by changing the
lens. The DMC-GX1 lets you use the versatile lineup of Micro Four
Thirds System lenses, including the LUMIX G / LEICA DG
lenses.
Full-HD Video
The DMC-GX1 is an advanced photographic tool for recording not
only great photos but also beautiful Full-HD 1,920 x 1,080 videos in AVCHD (MPEG-4 / H.264) format. The AVCHD format features almost twice the
recording time in HD quality than the conventional Motion JPEG and
excels in the compatibility with AV devices like HDTVs or Blu-ray
Disc™ players.
