How Tough are Tougbooks?
Fully rugged Toughbook computers are manufactured to endure 90cm
drops and to withstand violent shocks, vibrations and liquid. They
are fabricated to operate at temperatures over 60° and below -20°
Celsius and function both at high altitude and under increased
atmospheric pressure. These machines must pass stringent MIL-STD
tests in order to be Toughbook rugged.
Fully Ruggedised Toughbooks are ideal partners for outdoor
mobile computing. A magnesium casing offers maximum protection for
the most sensitive components such as the display. Hard drives are
secured against impact and shock. A fall from a height of 90cm does
not affect functionality in any way.
Casing design and a special protective coating provides
both dust and water resistance making Fully Ruggedised Toughbooks
ideally suited for wet or dusty field work.
