AAC (MPEG-2 Advanced Audio Coding). This is the high quality digital compression technology used in SD Audio player "e-wear". It compresses data to about 1/10 th its original size while still maintaining CD-like sound quality when recording in the highest quality mode (128kbps).
AAC Coding AAC (Advanced Audio Compression) is the recording format used for SD Audio recording.
ABCD Features For enhanced theatre experience (Advanced Surround, Bass Plus, Cinema Mode, Dialogue Enhancer).
AC3/DTS Ready DTS (Digital Theatre System) - A multi channel (5.1) digital audio encoding format created by Digital Theatre Systems. This is the standard audio format for DVD-Video, the signal for six channels is recorded separately using digital processing. This eliminates cross channel interference and creates a sound field with true to life depth and presence.
Active Contrast/Gamma Control The Active Contrast Control technology detects the brightness level of the input signal and increases contrast by dynamically extending the output brightness signal. The new Active Gamma Control uses a process called histogram detection to process the luminance distribution in real-time. Non-Linear Gamma Correction is then used to boost gradation in the luminance areas containing the greatest number of image elements. The result is greater detail, depth and realism in areas such as the backgrounds behind movie sub-titles and images around a lit candle in a dark room.
Active Light Control This circuitry automatically detects the brightness levels of the input signal and adjusts the backlight accordingly in real-time. This represents a dramatic improvement over conventional LCD TV's, which commonly suffer from insufficient maximum brightness and a lack of depth due to weak black reproduction. The result is a greatly expanded dynamic range from black to white peak, with crisp, natural pictures that assure dynamic viewing.
Active System Control This technology dynamically adjusts the video signal according to the image contrast. Working in tandem with Active Light Control, it adds greater brightness to bright scenes and brings more depth to dark scenes, for vivid images and a more powerful viewing experience.
Advanced 3D Progressive Scan Panasonic's advanced progressive scan eliminates flicker in still images and minimises jagged diagonal edges in moving pictures resulting in crisp, natural edges and greatly improved resolution.
Advanced Built-in Dolby Digital Decoder The built-in Dolby Digital Decoder delivers crisp, theatre-like sound using six discrete channels of audio. Individual channels are provided for left front, centre, right front, left surround, right surround and subwoofer. And, the built-in decoder lets you control speaker configuration, delay time speaker level control.
Advanced Plasma AI The Advanced Plasma AI (Advanced Brightness Intensifier) increases the discharge cycles for dark scenes and produces extremely precise control of the brightness level. The result is extremely vivid whites and unprecedented colours.
Advanced Surround By simulating surround channel sounds, you can enjoy the thrilling sound of 5.1 channel movie disks without an elaborate home theatre system.
AF Assist Lamp Provides extra lighting as a focusing aid for slightly dark situations where AF focusing would ordinarily be difficult.
AF Distance Metering Select from spot metering, 1-point, 3-point and 9 point metering. The 3-point metering mode also focuses more quickly, making it easier to get clear, sharp shots of a subject moving horizontally.
AF Trigger Lets you pre-focus on a specific area before you take the shot.
Analog An analog communication is one in which the signal is transmitted and received in its original form. The transmitted signal remains unchanged, or not digitised; as it passes through an electronic system.
Anti-Theft Features All of our projectors are designed with effective anti-theft features, including a user password, control panel lock and text imposing. They also have a security lock slot compatible with the Kensington Microsaver cable.

ArcSoft PhotoImpression Adjust colours and process images to create calendars, cards etc.
ArcSoft PhotoPrinter Pro Select numerous photos to print together as one group.
Aspect Ratio Switching With Panasonic LCD TV's, you can choose the aspect ratio - 4:3 or 16:9 (Letterbox) - according to the signal input. Some LCD TV's "squeeze" wide-format DVD movies to make them fit the screen. Our LCD TV's, on the other hand, show wide-format images in correct letterbox format with no distortion. Also, the Pixel controller is compatible with progressive signals, so our LCD TV's deliver natural, true-to-life images from DVD players and video games with progressive output.
Asymmetrical Cell Structure The MACH panel uses an asymmetrical cell structure in which the pitch of the red, green and blue cells varies. By improving the light emitting balance of the three primary colours, this helps deliver extremely pure whites while maintaining superior brightness.
Audio/JPEG Navigation Menu On-screen confirmation of MP3 and WMA folders recorded on CD-R'S or CD-RW'S lets you search tracks quickly. Plus JPEG* data stored by category in separate folders is displayed in a menu that maintains the same folder structure, making it quick and easy to search for photos and music.
Audio Only Circuit Protection against noise is provided by the Audio Only circuit that isolates the audio circuitry from the video circuitry. The result is exceptionally pure signal reproduction.
Audio Navigation Menu This feature allows onscreen confirmation of MP3 folders recorded on CD-R and CD-RW disks, this enables extra fast track search ability.
Audio Recording Level Control You can adjust the recording sound as desired by using the peak level meters and audio recording level controls.

Blu-ray Blu-ray is the name of the next generation disc recording and playback format. The single sided discs are expected to hold up to 27 GB of data or 13 hours of film and will be available in a recordable format. The recording technology works in the same way as current DVD players but the new Blu-ray drives will use a blue laser to read the discs. Blue lasers have a shorter wavelength (405 nanometer) than the red lasers used in DVD (650 nanometer) allowing them to focus on a smaller area. This means that more information can be stored onto the disc. There are plans that by utilising single sided dual layer technology the eventual capacity could rise to 50 GB per disc.
Bluetooth Bluetooth is a low power radio technology being developed with the objective of replacing the wires currently used to connect electronic devices; such as personal computers, printers and a wide variety of handheld devices such as palm top computers and mobile phones. Max transfer rate 1 Mbps.
