G-Code G-Code allows you to record at the touch of a button, simply enter the G-Code numbers listed in your TV program guides and transfer to your VCR or DVD-RAM for easy recording.
GIGA GIGA (Geometric Interline Generation Algorithm). GIGA television uses the 8x-picture density of the progressive/100Hz scan system to unleash the maximum potential of digital broadcasts. GIGA provides extremely precise processing of all moving images, regardless of their speed and direction. The result is a sharp, well focused, progressive/100Hz picture, with no jagged edges or blurring.
GIGA 100Hz Super Digital Scan Conventional televisions display 50 images per second (PAL). At this speed, the human eye can detect flickering. GIGA 100Hz Super Digital Scan doubles the image display rate to 100 per second. This replaces the flickering with a picture that's smooth, steady and easy to view. Some residual flickering still remains due to the interlacing of the lines, but this is greatly reduced through advanced GIGA 100Hz technology.
GIGA Progressive Scan The GIGA Progressive Scan system has twice the number of scanning lines as conventional televisions. The GIGA Progressive Scan system scans the individual images as a complete picture. This achieves extremely faithful results from high quality film sources such as DVD.
Gluten Free Mode For loaves using specially blended gluten free bread mixes.
GPRS GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) Rather than sending a continuous stream of data over a permanent connection, packet switching only utilises the network when there is data to be sent.
Graphic On-Screen Menu Easy to use and easy to access, this user-friendly Graphical On-Screen Menu provides more helpful information with improved graphics and colours.

Hammer Drive Bass-Reflex Woofer Stereo speakers in completely enclosed speaker boxes on the right and left provide superior reproduction of mid to high range sounds. The bass-reflex woofer at the lower centre then complements them by reflecting the bass sound off the table, making full use of the table's baffle effect to achieve an expansive sound field and exceptionally deep, true bass.
Hammer Drive Sound System The bass reflex port mounted at the TV's bottom is shaped using our new designed Hammer Drive Sound System. In this acoustically advanced system, the bass is reflected off the surface on which the TV sits, using the surface's baffle effect to create an expansive sound field and deep, true bass.
Handset Locater This function assists when finding a misplaced handset, press the locater button on the base, and the handset will beep.
HDCD Ready High Definition Compatible Digital (HDCD) is an encoding/decoding technology that greatly enhances the sound quality of CD's. Conventional CD's are recorded using a 16-bit signal. HDCD encodes 20-bit information into 16-bit data, so you get superior 20-bit sound from HD compatible players or normal 16-bit sound from other players. In this way, HDCD lets you enjoy a richer sound and wider dynamic range.
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) New interface standard for digital transmission of video and audio signals. With HDMI, signals are not compressed. Transmission is direct and "pure" - free of degradation and noise that occur with analogue signal transmission. This new interface supports image resolution all the way up to 1080p. HDMI is particularly well suited for images that will be viewed on Plasma Display Panels, LCD and other equipment that uses all digital image processing.
HD GIGA Projection Tube T(Tau) GIGA Projection TV introduces Panasonic's newly developed HD GIGA Projection Tube, which raises VM (Velocity Modulation) sensitivity by more than 300% compared with conventional projection tubes. In the TX-47P800 and TX-56P800 projection tubes, a coil spring shape is used for part of the G4 electrode. This suppresses the generation of eddy current that serves to cancel the VM electromagnet field, achieving a dramatic improvement in VM sensitivity. You'll see the result in crisp, sharp, vivid images with minimal noise and oustanding edge definition.
HD MACH Panel The HD MACH Panel features a bounded cell structure in which wall-like ribs are used to wrap each individual cell. By increasing the area in which the phosphor can be applied, this dramatically improves both light-emitting efficiency and intensity. The HD MACH panel structure also helps imporve contrast. That's one of the reasons why Panasonic Plasma TV's can deliver remarkably bright, easy-to-see images even in bright lighting.
HD Panel Panasonic's HD (High Definition) Panel boast approximately 1,050,000 (1,366 x 768) pixels in the TH-50PHD6EX/BX captures all the beauty of HD images sources.
HighMAT Co-developed by Panasonic and Microsoft, HighMat was designed to significantly improve interoperability for digital media content between PC's and popular electronics devices such as CD Players, Car Stereos and DVD Players. HighMAT is a digital-media standard that provides a dramatically improved method of storing, arranging and playing back personal digital photo, music and video collections on recordable disks such as CD-RW media.
Highlight Display A flashing indicator on the LCD shows any parts of the images that have been overexposed.
High Efficiency, High Power An advanced switching amp control method called "dead time" control combines with a "serial snubber" circuit to attain more than 90% electric power efficiency at the output stage. This super-high efficiency not only saves energy and reduces heat generation, it also ensures a stable, high-quality sound. Our new amplifiers are built for power too. Pumping out 100 watts x 6 channels - incredibly high output for amplifiers this slim - they let you enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful sound inherent in DVD and other multi channel sources. We also paid close attention to styling, designing these units to coordinate with Panasonic DVD Players. This makes it easy for you to create a Home Cinema system that looks good and sounds fantastic.
High-Purity Colour Filter The LCD's colour filter is the key to colour reproduction. Using a thicker colour filter improves colour purity (vividness), but it also reduces light transmittance (brightness). Panasonic has developed a new LCD AI that increases brightness and thus allows us to use a thicker, higher-purity colour filter. This dramatically increases the colour reproduction range, resulting in strikingly vivid colours with greater depth.
High Quality Linear PCM Audio* In addition to Dolby Digital audio recording, Panasonic DVD Recorder** can record sound using linear PCM (pulse code modulation) without compressing the audio signal. The resulting sound quality is superb.
* - XP Mode only
** - Except DMR-E55
High Speed Recording from Hard Disk* High-speed recording from the hard disk to a DVD-RAM (3x Speed compatible**) or DVD-R (4x Speed compatible) disc can be done with the touch of a single button.
* - Recording from the Hard Disk to a DVD-RAM or DVD-R disc cannot be used with images for which only single generation recording is allowed. When recording these images to a DVD-RAM disc, the original image on the hard disk is erased.
** - Not available on the DMR-E100H
High Speed Motion Picture Response (16 msec) Panasonic's advanced MACH Drive technology combines with high-speed liquid crystal materials to achieve an extremely fast response of 16 msec. Moving pictures appear quickly, ensuring sharp, clear images with minimal afterimaging. A high response speed (i.e. the time required for the image to switch from black to white, and then black to black) reduces blurring that can occur in moving pictures on conventional LCD TV's. With our LCD TV's, even fast-action sport scenes are reproduced sharply and crisply with minimal afterimages or colour shift.
High Speed Read and Write DVD-RAM handles huge volumes of data at the high speed of 22.16 Mbps for reading and writing.
High Speed USB 2.0 Interface Transfer data to a PC at 480 Mbps.
Histogram Graph showing brightness distribution in an image. The right edge indicates white, and the left edge indicates black.
Hot Key Speed Dialling Assign your most frequently called numbers a hot key from 1 - 9. Use the dial button to select and press talk to make your call.
Hot Shoe Accessory for mounting devices such as video lights, flashes and zoom microphones. Hot refers to these devices running off the cameras battery, not an auxiliary battery.
Hybrid A hybrid key system can use single line telephone (SLT) in addition to an electric proprietary telephone.
