Sandwich Bread Mode For medium size loaves.  Ideal for sandwiches.

Save SD Video (MPEG4/MPEG2) It's easy to save SD Video or Still Photos to the built-in hard disk, where you can edit your programs, add titles, then burn to a DVD-RAM or DVD-R disc.  There's no better way to archive all your memories than on durable, shareable DVD discs.

SBC-SW (Super Bass Controlled Subwoofer) Rear speakers can be used as a subwoofer exclusively for bass reproduction.  Cutoff frequency as well as rear output level are adjustable so low-range characteristics can be tailored to the music.  This also contributes to front soundstage imaging stability.

S-Class Filter System Panasonic's unique filtration system collects 99.5% of household dust particles, helping to prevent allergies, asthma and other respiratory problems.  It starts with a double layered bag and a secondary motor filter in the dust compartment, continuing to the special S-Class filter system.  With 2.5 times the surface area of the normal electrostatic filter, this system is specifically designed to filter microscopic dust particles.

Scenery Mode This mode provides quick focusing and crisp detail, for beautiful photos of scenery.

SCN This position lets you look at the menu screen and select the most suitable scene mode.

Screen Savers Select from a total of three screen savers to minimise the risk of uneven phosphor aging.  The white bar scroll is designed for ordinary still image displays, screen reversal is for text-screen displays and slide panel adjustment is for 4:3 mode images.  All three can be started up in manual mode, or they can be set to automatically start/stop at present times on timer mode, or for preset periods on interval mode.

SDBB (Super Dynamic Bass Boost) You can choose from four different kinds of bass boost, depending on your taste and music.  Variable boost (low or high) enhances the bass signal along with your volume setting - just the thing if you really like precisely controlled bass.  Fixed boost (high or low) applies a constant boost to the input signals regardless of the volume settings.  All four settings bring you powerful, rich bass satisfaction with quick transient response.

SD Memory Card The SD (Secure Digital) Memory Cards combine high storage capacity, rapid data transfer and security - all in a card no bigger than the size of a postage stamp (measures 24mm x 32mm x 2.1mm).

SD Memory Card Compatible SD Memory Cards are the ideal recording and storage media for today's visual communication and networking.  They make it easy to instantaneously transfer image data to a PC or printer.

SD Viewer for DSC Makes it easy to check image data on an SD Memory Card. Use it to create slide shows and save them on an SD Memory Card (for Windows).

Seat Position Selector To supplement the balance and fader controls, you can select from among five seat position settings (LEFT, RIGHT, REAR etc).  This will allow you to optimize sound reproduction in a particular listening position or for a certain number of passengers.

Self-Timer You can use either a 10-second or 2-second setting.

Sepia (Playback only) Gives the image an antique looking sepia tone.

S-HDB (Super High Definition Bass) Your favourite tunes come alive with pulsating bass and scintillating treble.  The secret is the emphasis on the 80 Hz (low) and 10 kHz (high) portions of the sound.  S-HDB gives you a choice of two modes: BOOM which is effective for 4-speaker systems, and TIGHT which is tuned for 5 or 6-speaker systems that include a subwoofer.

Shutter Priority AE Mode Set the shutter speed between 8 and 1/2,000 sec to freeze or express movement.

Simple Mode All settings are made automatically, so it's easy to take beautiful photos even if you've never before used a Digital Camera.  Just aim and press the shutter button.  When shooting directly into a light source, press the cursor button.  This will turn on the backlighting compensation mode so the subject doesn't appear too dark.

Simultaneous Record & Play While you're recording this week's episode of your favourite show, you may want to watch last week's episode.  The simultaneous Record & Play function makes it possible.  It lets you record one program while you watch another one that has already been recorded onto the same disc.

Sleep Function Don't worry if you fall asleep while watching a movie - as soon as it ends, this function automatically switches power off to save energy.

Slim (R & P) Expands the image vertically.

Smart Wind Cut A digital circuit automatically detects the wind velocity and adjusts the directivity of the microphones accordingly. This dramatically reduces both wind noise and sound degradation in low frequency range.

Snow Mode Prevents subjects from looking washed out inb scenes with bright surroundings.

Soft Skin Detail Function In Portrait or Night Portrait mode, this function adjusts the skin colours to make complexions more attractive.

Sports Mode Uses a higher shutter speed to catch fast-moving subjects.

SQ (Sound Quality) There are six preset modes (FLAT, POP, ROCK,VOCAL, JAZZ, CLUB). You can customize your settings for these (except FLAT) and save them for instant recall.

SQ7 (7-Band Sound Quality) You can adjust the level in each of the seven frequency bands.

SQ9 (9-Band Sound Quality) Centre frequency and level are adjustable in each of the nine bands.  This lets you fine tune sound quality for each genre to suit your personal preferences and the acoustics of the car's interior.

SQPB (Super-VHS Quasi Playback) enables you to play tapes recorded in the S-VHS or V-VHS-ET formats on a non S-VHS video recorder.

sRGB sRGB is a standard that assures uniform colour expression among scanners, monitors, projectors and other imaging equipment.  All Panasonic's projectors are sRGB compliant, which guarantees correct colour translation and representation.  This will ensure your images are accurately represented on screen.

Still Picture (JPEG*/TIFF) Storage/Playback Use the memory card slots** to transfer images from an SD/PC card to a DVD-RAM disc or the built-in hard disk.  View the images in a slide show on your TV, or use DPOF*** settings for automatic printing to your printer.

*    - The DMR-E100H and DMR-E65 are compatible with DCF (Design rule for Camera File system) based still picture (JPEG) files and TIFF (uncompressed RGB chunky) files recorded using a digital camera.
**  - The DMR-E100H and the DMR-E65 are compatible with the SD Memory Card and other memory cards.  A PC Card adaptor conforming to PC Card standards is required.
*** - DPOF settings can be made only for data on SD/PC Cards.  When DPOF settings are made with the DMR-E100H and DMR-E65, it will cancel all settings (except for the number of prints) that were made by any other equipment.

Stretch (R & P) Expands the image horizontally.

Strobe (R & P) Digitally "freezes" a series of images.

Super G3 Transmission Super G3 is a new fax communication speed that realises the fastest fax delivery via a PSTN line.

Super Hi Speed Scan Enables fast-forward/reverse at up to 200 times normal speed. This lets you scan a two hour movie in 40 seconds, offering a quick way to access desired scenes.

Super Image Stabiliser (SIS) Digital EIS is a unique idea that helps compensate for unintentional hand and/or camcorder movement.  It even reduces unwanted jitter from recordings made in a car, or while walking.  And with Digital EIS, you can use this feature during playback to help reduce movement in previously recorded videos.

Super Rapid Bake Mode Shortens the preparation time to approximately 1 hour 55 minutes.

Super Real Black Drive System By reducing the pre-discharge emission when reproducing black, the New Real Black Drive System provides deeper, richer blacks and a stunning 4000:1 contrast.  The result is dramatically enhanced image clarity and realism.

Super Real Gamma System Panasonic's new Real Gamma Correction technology has enabled the industry first reproduction of 1,024 shades of gradation in a high definition plasma display.  The result is far better reproduction of the low-light portions of the image.

Super Sound EQ Super Sound EQ offers an easy way to dynamic sound. Simply press the Super Sound EQ button on the main unit and sound pressure across the entire range of reproduced frequencies is boosted for a more powerful sound.

Super Woofer A separate sub woofer provides powerful bass you can feel.

S-Video Most midrange and premium video equipment provide the additional option of using Y/C video connections.  The Y/C (or S-Video) cable is terminated at each end with a four-pin DIN connector.  Although it may appear to be a single cable, internally it has two 75 ohm coax or twisted pair calbes to carry the separate Y and C signals.

Tele Macro Mode  Just press a button and you're ready to shoot macro close-ups of subjects a mere 20 cm from the lens.  The subject will have a clear, sharp focus, while the background focus is muted.

Text Superimposing You can programme a text line to be superimposed on the bottom of the projected image.  This helps to deter theft by continually displaying, for example, your company name, URL, or a warning of your choice.

TIFF Format Compatible Saves image data without compressing it, so there's almost no quality degradation.

Time Slip Recording/Playback Just press the Time Slip button once during recording to start playing back the scene recorded 30 seconds before. You can also use the cursor keys to return to any point from 1 to 360 minutes ago while watching the playback on a small, on screen window.

Trail (R & P) Forms multiple impressions of all the images in motion, which gradually fade-out to create a "trail" effect.

Trimming & Resizing These let you trim the image, or reduce the amount of image data.

Triple Edge Cleaning Panasonic's wall to wall cleaning has been further improved by the addition of a front edge cleaner.
