Hi there KWN finalists,

We are pleased to announce that the judges have picked their winners from the 250 entries we received for this year's Panasonic Kid witness News competition.

This is the first year we've awarded multiple winners and this reflects KWN's appeal to students from all levels of their schooling.

Congratulations to all our winners, and especially to the small team from Mt Aspiring College in Wanaka who has taken out the top prize for the second year running.

Best Primary School Queenstown Primary 'A pine in the rear'
Best Intermediate School Bethlehem 'Amelia's colourful world'
Best Secondary School Rotorua Girls High 'Seeing through the spectrum'
National Runner-up Ngatea Primary 'NZ's fantastic farming future'
National Champion Mt Aspiring College 'Forever Emily

The standard of entries was again very high this year but Mt Aspiring's film, 'Forever Emily' is a very skillful and memorable vision of the sadness, anger, frustration, and finally reconciliation a young girl feels towards a close friend who has died.

All our winning entries are now available to view at the KWN Videos page.

Thank you to all the teams who participated in this year's Panasonic KWN competition. We can see there are a number of budding young filmmakers out there and it's exciting to watch their expertise in story telling build over successive years.

All the best and we look forward to more great film entries next year.

Kind Regards
