Panasonic Exceeds Environmental Goals for 201211th April 2013     By: Panasonic Media

Panasonic New Zealand has exceeded targets by saving more than expected in both power and paper usage in the past financial year.

With a target reduction for power set at -1% and the target reduction for paper set at -3%, Panasonic have reached an all time low with -7% saved on power and -12% on paper achieved during 2012.

With the move into a bigger headquarters at the beginning of this year, Panasonic New Zealand is committed to ensuring it meets its environmental savings targets and is proactive to ensure their environmental performance is constantly improved.

Panasonic New Zealand has achieved reductions in paper usage in four of the last five years.

The three main components to Panasonic's Environmental policy are:
  1. Panasonic New Zealand is committed to conduct its operations with minimal impact on the environment.
  2. To comply with applicable corporate, environmental legislative and regulatory requirements.
  3. Strive to excel towards continual improvement in environmental performance.

The targets for the current financial year are set to -1% for power and -3% for paper with the hope that a greater saving will be made to beat the current percentage rate this year.
