Panasonic Launches New Toughpad Android Device5th April 2013     By: Panasonic Media

Panasonic New Zealand has released its first tablet device, the Toughpad - a device made to be extremely durable and able to withstand all forces of nature including dust, water and drops from high heights.

Panasonic Toughpads help drive efficiency and productivity in ways that were never previously possible and have been especially designed for use in commercial and markets such as aviation, construction, field sales and the public sector, where exposure to extreme environments is a constant challenge and the consequences of failure are significant.

Designed to meet the same standards as all Toughbooks, Toughpad models are way more durable than comparable tablets. Toughpads are MIL-STD-810G compliant for drops, as well as IP-rated for resistance to dust and water.

John Buckley, the Gadget Guy on TVNZ Breakfast took the FZ-A1 android Toughpad on air last week as part of the Waterproof Gadget segment. Breakfast is watched by an average of 150,000 people every morning.

The FZ-A1 Toughpad comes in two versions - one with Wi-Fi, 3G and GPS and another version with Wi-Fi only.
