Panasonic LUMIX GH4 firmware update brings Post Focus and 4K Photo Mode21st March 2016     By: Panasonic Media

Panasonic has announced a new firmware update for LUMIX DMC-GH4 to further to enhance performance and usability.

The new firmware Ver. 2.5 includes the following updates:

4K Photo Mode takes advantage of the GH4's video capabilities. It captures a clip of 4K footage, using 4K burst, 4K Burst (Start/Stop) and 4K pre-burst, and users can select their favourite frame in playback, and save it as an 8MP still image. By utilising 4K Photo Mode, photographers can capture those hard-to-catch photographic moments. Firmware 2.5 also enables consecutive shooting with compatible Panasonic external flash units.

With Post Focus, photographers simply shoot images without worrying about focus points. When in playback mode, they can select their desired focus point, and the process can be repeated for multiple shots, all with different focal points. The Lumix GX8, G7 and FZ300 were the first in line to get the feature via firmware update in December last year.

Consecutive shooting with flash burst is available when an external flash that is capable of continuous emission is attached.

The new firmware Ver. 2.5 update will be available for the GH4 from the end of March 2016. The free download will be available from:
