Panasonic has announced a new firmware update for LUMIX DMC-GH4
to further to enhance performance and usability.
The new firmware Ver. 2.5 includes the following updates:
4K Photo Mode takes advantage of the GH4's video capabilities.
It captures a clip of 4K footage, using 4K burst, 4K Burst
(Start/Stop) and 4K pre-burst, and users can select their favourite
frame in playback, and save it as an 8MP still image. By utilising
4K Photo Mode, photographers can capture those hard-to-catch
photographic moments. Firmware 2.5 also enables consecutive
shooting with compatible Panasonic external flash units.
With Post Focus, photographers simply shoot images without
worrying about focus points. When in playback mode, they can select
their desired focus point, and the process can be repeated for
multiple shots, all with different focal points. The Lumix GX8, G7
and FZ300 were the first in line to get the feature via firmware
update in December last year.
