Panasonic New Zealand is proud to partner with the Doc Edge Festival for 2016.

Now in its 11th year, the Doc Edge Festival is New Zealand's only dedicated documentary film festival which showcases the best films from New Zealand and abroad from the past year.

52 films will screen at the festival including the world premiere of A Billion Lives, and many award-winning films including Sonita, Song of Lahore, Among the Believers and Miners Shot Down. Local and international filmmakers will also be attending the festival for unique Q&A's and DOC talks.

Panasonic New Zealand will be providing cash prizes to the winners of the Best International Feature and Best International Short categories. The winners for the Best New Zealand Director, Cinematography and Editing categories will also receive Panasonic's iconic LUMIX GH4 Camera. Winners for each category will be announced on Thursday 12 May.

Furthermore, the Doc Edge Festival will be offering free daytime screenings to participating schools in the Doc 4 Schools programme. Students will be given the opportunity to view diverse subjects and to facilitate further discussion. One participating school from the Doc 4 Schools programme will receive a Panasonic Camcorder for the students to try out filmmaking.

Andrew Reid, LUMIX Product Manager at Panasonic New Zealand says "We are absolutely thrilled to partner with the Doc Edge Festival. At Panasonic, we are passionate about fostering creativity and innovation and getting behind events in our local community.
